St Thomas Home for Children
60 vulnerable and orphaned children between two and ten years old call St Thomas their home.
They first opened their doors in 1959. Their goals are to enhance the children’s quality of life, and to help the children re-integrate into families as well as their broader community.
The home’s vision is to help uphold children’s rights within South Africa.
They use section 28 in the South African constitution as a starting point, and also agree with the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights which declares that children should receive special assistance and care.
Hollywoodbets Overport team members visited St Thomas to deliver some groceries to their staff members.
Marie – Therese Naidoo, Manager at the home, thanked the team for this useful contribution.
“This donation has helped us to cut down on the purchase of groceries and has helped us manage our grocery budget more effectively.
We can prepare some tasty and enjoyable meals for the children in our care with these groceries that were supplied by Hollywoodbets,” she said.
