The Twilight Children organisation first opened their doors in 1983. For the past 34 years they have been offering shelter, food and skills training to young members of the local community. The centre’s ultimate goal is to help these youths find work thanks to skills training and to support them until they are able to support themselves.

Over the past three years Hollywoodbets Hillbrow has built a solid relationship with this organisation, choosing to continue doing their part in support of the good work done at Twilight Children.

The team delivered some much-needed groceries, toiletries and household supplies to the organisation.

Catherine MacDonald, a volunteer worker at the centre, thanked the Hillbrow team for their continued support.”Thanks to the help from Hollywoodbets we are able to feed more homeless youths from the streets, and to encourage those who are over 18 to attend our outreach programmes.”

“Many of these youths were born just after 1994 and all they know is the trauma of the streets and fighting to survive. They are vulnerable to drugs, prostitution, gangsterism and suicide.”

Many of them have not had the opportunity to work on their education and have been on the streets since childhood, so we appreciate this help.”

“It gives them hope and ultimately helps us assist them to find jobs,” she said.
