Hollywoodbets Kempton Park chose to support Sithandiwe Disabled Care Centre as part of Hollywoodbets’ My Community Programme for 2018/2019. Read on to learn more about the team’s donation.
Sithandiwe Disabled Care Centre
Hollywoodbets Kempton Park
The centre was opened by Thandi Ndlovu in 2006 to create a safe haven for children living with disabilities.
Thandi was inspired to open the centre because she had experienced a difficult childhood thanks to her own disability, and she wanted to create a place where children would feel safe, and be loved and accepted.
She currently runs the centre alongside her daughter Zandile Ndlovu who is the Centre Manager.
After visiting Sithandiwe Hollywoodbets Kempton Park felt inspired to assist them in their good work by donating a tumble dryer, two DVD players, a food processor, irons, an ironing board, dinner sets, bedding and a chalk board to the organisation.
Zandile Ndlovu thanked them for their contribution.
“We struggle to buy things that could help the children because of financial constraints. Thank you for caring about your communities and responding to the needs of NGOs like ours when we request assistance,” she said.
